The Montgomery United Fund For You will be honoring companies throughout Montgomery County who held employee fundraising campaigns in 2016 during its 2016 MUFFY Campaign Celebration on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Donnelley Room of the Crawfordsville Public Library.
"Quite simply, MUFFY would not be MUFFY without these organizations who take the time each year to educate their employees about the needs of Montgomery County's nonprofit agencies and make special efforts to raise funds for these agencies," said David Johnson, MUFFY's Executive Director. "These companies are the lifeblood of charitable giving in our community."
Donors to the 2016 MUFFY "Elevate Montgomery County" fundraising campaign have a unique opportunity to double their gift through the Garner Family Matching Grant, established by the estate of Robert Allen Garner in memory of Sherman and Irene Garner.
The Montgomery United Fund For You (MUFFY) has begun a social-media series which delves deeper into each of MUFFY's seventeen 2016 Partner Agencies.
"For forty-six years, MUFFY has been maximizing the power of Montgomery County to help its neighbors in need," said Kara Edie, MUFFY Office Manager. "There are so many donors who know that MUFFY does good things, but they don't see the everyday work that goes on in the agencies and the massive impact they have on our community."
MUFFY Moments, a new series of videos, images and vignettes shared on MUFFY's social media channels, will bring viewers into each Partner Agency to meet the people, share in their trials and triumphs, and learn just how each organization makes a difference in Montgomery County.
The MUFFY Moments series starts off with an in-depth view of Pam's Promise Transitional Housing, one of MUFFY's newest Partner Agencies. Pam's Promise just held an open house on their newest property on Country Club Road that will soon be available to house up to four women or women-with-children who face an immediate housing need. MUFFY Moments will take a look at the new property and hear from community leaders involved in its acquisition and rehabilitation.
"Viewers will get a real education from this series," said Edie. "They'll be able see how hard these organizations work for our community. I think they'll be very proud."
The MUFFY Moments series can be found on MUFFY's Facebook, Twitter and YouTube channels. To visit, go to facebook.com/muffyhelps, twitter.com/muffyhelps, and youtube.com/muffyhelps.

Southmont Athletics held a fundraising drive for tornado relief and recovery during their varsity football game on August 26 against North Putnam and donated nearly $500 to MUFFY! Both Mountie and Cougar fans donated funds that will go to help Montgomery County residents recover from last week's destructive storms. David Johnson of MUFFY accepts the generous donation from the Mountie mascot himself. Thank you, Mounties!
The celebration will include awards for the top fundraiser in every MUFFY division: Commercial, Industrial, Public Service, Rural/Ag, Small Business and Special Gifts, as well as certificates for each company who held an employee fundraising campaign in 2016. Representatives from MUFFY's Partner Agencies will also be on hand to thank companies and employees for their donations. Light refreshments will be served.
